IN PERSON classes have resumed allowing for more space between students. This may not always be possible as it is a large craft table and not separate tables that can be pulled farther apart.
NOTE: Here is our policy on masks and conversation topics. MASKS: St. Johns County is not under a mandatory mask mandate. Although masks are recommended, they are not required by some businesses. We do not enforce masks even though students are spread out. Keep this in mind before signing up for the class as there are no refunds. If you are not comfortable being around other people not wearing a mask, please do not sign up for a class. CONVERSATION: We do not like to stifle conversations. However, to keep things peaceful, we will not allow conversations that are: political, about masks, about any virus, about any vaccinations, etc. There is enough negativity out in the world that we want to focus on the painting class. Any student that cannot respect the class rules will be asked to leave immediately.
The painting classes are open to beginners and advanced students. The instructor is detailed in her instruction by talking about the technique, demonstrating, going over instructions again, and then walks around the room to ensure everyone is following along. If students needs a little help, the instructor is there to assist. Everyone leaves with a finished painting.
Although we encourage anyone with any type of disability to participate in our classes, special attention cannot be given during a regular group painting class. It holds up the rest of the class when a lot of extra time is spent with one student. Many of the class paintings involve a lot of detail work. If you have trouble with your eyesight or have shaky hands, these group classes may not be for you. However, you can always inquire about private classes where you will get the one on one attention.
Payment will need to be made at the time you book your seat. Please be confident you can attend the class before you book your seat. There are no refunds. However, if you cancel with at least 24 hour notice, your fee will be credited for a future class. No shows will not get a credit. Please be respectful and mark the class date/time on your calendar.
Deadline to book a seat is 1 day before the start of class. This allows enough time for the canvases to get prepped.
You do not need a PayPal account in order to pay using PayPal. Any debit or credit card will work. If you cannot use PayPal, contact Darla at email@example.com to make other arrangements.
Portrait classes require a 3-4 day commitment. Please check the dates before signing up as there are no make-up dates if you can't attend all the class dates. Portrait classes are for people that want to learn how to paint realistic people or animals.
